Tom Sutcliffe, “the John Gierach of the South”, was the doyen of South African fly fishing. He was a world-recognised piscatorial artist and best-selling author, having written countless articles and seven books on the subject, including the iconic Hunting Trout. Tom died in April 2024, a fine author and a great human being.
This book is a collection of narratives selected from my fly-fishing life over many years, written so that my observations, my moments of joy and the many lessons I have learnt, seep through the pages to make my readers feel they are actually alongside me, cast for cast, run for run.”
