David Buckham is the founder and CEO of Monocle, a management consulting firm specialising in banking and insurance. He has diverse experience within the banking and financial markets space, having guided regulatory implementation in banks around the world for more than two decades. He has worked in Iceland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the UK and South Africa. He holds a master’s degree in English literature and is the co-author of The End of Money (2021), The Age of Menace (2022), Why Banks Fail (2023) and The Spell (2025). His memoir, Orthogonal Thinking, was released in 2024.
